Ties with Nature has successfully completed the Streamkeepers Certificate Program with the intent of gaining further knowledge on stream enhancement practices in order to aid in preserving and enhancing our local streams and waterways in Nanaimo and around Vancouver Island.
Expanding commercial and residential building development continues to threaten crucial aquatic habitats that are home to such a large, bio-diverse population of native plants and indigenous wildlife.
If you would like to learn more about the Streamkeepers Program and what you can do to help make a beneficial impact please visit The Pacific Streamkeepers Federation. “The PSKF is a non-profit society that helps Streamkeepers take action through support, education and building partnerships.”
We would like to extend our gratitude to The Nanaimo Area Land Trust (NALT) for organizing and making the program possible.
We would also like to send a very big thank you to Dave Clough, RPBio. Dave is an amazing instructor who’s passion for the Streamkeepers Program has driven stream enhancement projects all over Vancouver Island to fruition.
